Thailand Polo King’s Cup begins today

The 7th Thailand Polo King’s Cup begins today in Bang Bo, Samut Prakan.

Thailand A, Thailand B, Brunei and China will be competing in a round-robin preliminary round at Siam Polo Park and VR Polo Club. The top two teams meet in the final on Jan 30.

Kanoksakdi Bhinsaeng, general secretary of the Thailand Polo Association (TPA), said he expected that the tournament would be more competitive than the previous years because the participating teams are at the same level thanks to a handicap system.

He said both the Thai teams would gain experience from the annual tournament as the TPA is building a squad for next year’s SEA Games in Indonesia.

In today’s opening match, Thailand A will take on China at 4pm. Tomorrow, Thailand B are up against China at 4pm and Thailand A meet Brunei at 5.30pm.
